The instructional designer contributes to the goals of the User Education and Outreach team by supporting our effort to create effective eLearning curriculum and training content. Our mission is to provide product training and user documentation that engages both users and potential customers through numerous outreach efforts. As a key member of the team, the instructional designer’s specific responsibilities include analyzing, designing, developing, and evaluating training to enhance Freedom Scientific’s eLearning course offerings.
Firm grasp of graphic design
Strong understanding of learning theory
Excellent web design, writing, communication and collaboration skills
Experience in managing multiple instructional design projects
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members
Excellent time management
Perform needs analysis and suggest instructional approach
Estimate timeline and resources
Design and develop courses
Administer production, quality control and implementation
Design courses using adult learning principles and integrate interactive concepts and activities
Ensure training deliverables are developed with high quality and within timelines
Manage multiple design projects using project management tools and methodologies
Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in order to resolve issues and determine creative solutions and training methods based on need
Research and implement new and emerging technologies or processes to evolve the company’s course offerings
College degree or equivalent work experience in Instructional Design and Training
Minimum five (5) years of experience developing courseware and self-paced training
Certification in Adobe eLearning Suite or equivalent instructional design tool preferred
