As a Mechanical Product Engineer you will be responsible for the engineering development and design of all mechanical functions and components of Vispero products with simultaneous consideration of design for reliability, design for manufacturing and design for assembly.
Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Fluent in English, written and spoken (Dutch and other languages are beneficial).
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
Being capable of delivering under pressure and work with shifting priorities.
Outstanding 3D modeling skills (Solidworks),
Interested in conceptual as well as executing tasks and not afraid to complete hands-on tasks.
Deep knowledge of product development for consumer propositions.
Work with product management and Industrial Designer to formulate product and user requirements, and translate them into new technical concepts and ideas.
Develop technical concepts and quickly create prototypes to assess and evaluate alternatives.
Work on technical concepts throughout the complete development phase, from sketching, creating technical drawings, prototyping up to release for production.
Provide support during product introduction at contract manufacturers in Asia.
Work closely with 3rd party development partners in Europe, Asia and/or US
Report progress of activities to Project Manager.
Proactively research emerging technologies to create new opportunities.
Develop, maintain, engineer, trace and verify Mechanical Product Requirements
Derive engineering solutions that meet customer and internal requirements by using engineering tools including CAD (SolidWorks)
Responsible for driving the decision making process to select solutions that consider simultaneously Design to Cost, Design for Reliability, Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly
Responsible for creating, maintaining and releasing product development quality deliverables such as Engineering/Design Reviews, FMEAs and Technical Risk Management.
Responsible for creating, maintaining and releasing product engineering deliverables and specifications such as 3D CAD Models, Tolerance Analysis (2D, 3D, Statistical), 2D CAD Component and Assembly Drawings.
Responsible for applying Design for Manufacturing practices to the component design of plastic injection molded, sheet metal and die-casting processes.
Lead the product industrialization from the mechanical perspective with the plants (in consideration of Lean Manufacturing practices and DFMA).
Lead the development of risk analysis and assessments during product launch phases
Responsible for cross-function collaboration with multiple product disciples including Hardware Electronic Design, Software, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, etc.
A bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar specialization in Electronic Medical Product Development is preferred.
At least 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Product Design Engineer.
