Freedom Scientific, a global leader in assistive technology for people who are blind or have low vision and the makers of JAWS, ZoomText, and Fusion, is excited to announce the rebranding of the month of November to “Sharkvember” in celebration of their screen reading software, JAWS.
This initiative aims to spotlight the transformative power of JAWS and bring together the worldwide community of users empowered by independence every day.
“We are incredibly proud of the huge impact our software has had on the lives of our users around the world,” said Ryan Jones, Vice President of Software at Freedom Scientific and a longtime JAWS user himself. “Sharkvember is not just a celebration of our products, but a testament to our commitment to championing accessibility and making the digital world more inclusive.”
In the lead-up to Sharkvember, Freedom Scientific will unveil a series of events, specials, and initiatives designed to engage with its vast community of users.
A centerpiece of Sharkvember will be the “Next Big Thing” contest. This initiative encourages JAWS or ZoomText users to come forward with their innovative ideas, offering them a platform to contribute directly to the evolution of the software. It’s a testament to Freedom Scientific’s belief in the collective intelligence of its community.
“The ‘Next Big Thing’ contest is more than just a competition; It’s a dialogue, a chance for us to listen to our users and integrate their visions into our future plans,” remarked Rachel Buchanan, Director of User Education and Support.”
