The Hardware Electronics Engineer role will work closely with the small product development team and product management to develop innovative products for the low vision and blind markets. In this entry level position, you will be expected to apply your knowledge and experience to turn creative ideas into impactful products. You will be actively engaged in all phases of the development lifecycle from inception to service.
The preferred candidate will have experience designing low voltage electronics consisting of technologies such as ARM based processor systems, Lithium-Ion battery chargers, CMOS imaging sensors and LCD displays. The candidate will need a demonstratable understanding of analog and digital design principles with the ability to troubleshoot down to the component level. The candidate will need a solid understanding of PCB design, manufacturing and DFM design rules. The candidate should have a basic understanding of optics for imaging device.
Scope of Work

- Collect requirements, write specifications, estimate scope and schedule for design activities.
- Perform design verification, test planning, qualitative and/or quantitative tests or evaluations of products, processes, equipment, and systems.
- Follows the established documentation guidelines and design processes.
- Research and develop digital and analog circuits that meet design requirements
- Troubleshoot, test and develop embedded systems
- Occasional International travel to contract manufacturers to support manufacturing issues as well as new product introductions.

Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Qualifications:
- BSEE and 1-5 years’ experience as Hardware Engineer or Electrical Engineer, including internships.
- Basic soldering and electronics assembly and wiring skills
- Knowledge designing analog circuits including diodes, MOSFETs, OpAmps, Comparators, A/D and D/As
- Experience with ARM based MCUs and Application processors
- Experience with CMOS sensors (cameras) , Optics, LCDs, LEDs and sensors
- Schematic capture tools such as OrCad, Altium, etc
- Experience with analog and digital simulation tools
- Novice with PCB layout tools such as OrCad/Allegro PCB
- Novice level skills with embedded software languages C/C++/PYTHON
- Novice level skills with structured PLM environments and version controls systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills and root cause analysis
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift boxes or products weighing up to 50lbs

Salary Range- $75,000 to $95,000 (negotiable) and will vary based on candidate qualifications, and experience.
