Accessibility Subject Matter Expert (SME)

The Accessibility Subject Matter Expert will have a well-rounded background in graphical user interface design and development.

Responsibilities
- 5+ years of electronic communications accessibility analysis, design and development experience in large and highly dynamic environments.
- Related assistive technology knowledge and experience with JAWS, NVDA, and / or WindowEyes screen readers.
- Solid knowledge of HTML4 & 5, ARIA, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Java and .net coding techniques, as well as US ADA law, Section 508, ACAA, CVAA requirements, and W3C WCAG 2.0 standards.
- Strong understanding of accessible user interface design practices and principles a must—better still if you can demonstrate experience relating to Internet or mobile usability/accessibility research.
- Extensive knowledge of electronic communication accessibility barriers, as well as strong organizational skills are both central to the position.
- Be able to teach methods & techniques for addressing accessibility barriers in a variety of forums
- Knowledge of AMP, Compliance Sheriff, WorldSpace applications, SharePoint,and Documentum, CQ5 or other content management systems is additionally advantageous.
Basic Qualifications
- BS. or Master’s Degree in information technology, human computer interaction, or related field considered an advantage. Equivalent experience accepted.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong techniques and methods for group facilitation and consensus building are a bonus.
- Solid experience with MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and PDF accessibility is preferred
