Tips for Navigating Fusion:

Fusion users can navigate using all the power of JAWS

Navigation Quick Keys

    • H for Headings, P for paragraphs, T for Tables, R for regions, E for Edit controls
    • Try INSERT + CTRL + E (or other Nav Keys) to get a list of Edit controls

Navigation in tables

    • Try CTRL + ALT Arrow Keys
    • Try INSERT + Space, T when in a table. This is a layer mode that lets you just arrow from cell to cell.

MS Teams, Gains in Popularity

  • Vispero and many organizations have now adopted this tool for internal communications and sharing
  • We have worked with Microsoft identifying some of the struggles getting around with a screen reader and made great progress with 2021 release
  • Alt + 1 – 5 help users move to the first 5 tab pages
  • Alt + H will hang up a call-in progress avoiding the need to tab all over
  • Alt + R will raise your hand in a meeting
  • And use INSERT + H for the latest JAWS shortcuts provided as always

Selecting a Block of Text Without the Mouse?

  • Feature for JAWS and Fusion users
  • Problem: Selecting a block of Text with the keyboard is difficult
    • You press shift down arrow, now listen, down arrow, now listen, etc.
  • Try this now in MS Word:
    • Locate the start or end of block you want to select.
    • Drop a place Marker by pressing CTRL+WINKey+K
    • Now navigate and read to the location you want to capture
    • Press INSERT +SPACE, M to Mark, and selection happens
  • Works in browsers and other apps as well

Screen Shade for Privacy

  • INSERT + F11 lets you blank your screen while continuing to work with Speech of Braille output for privacy

Where are the settings for Acrobat Reader?

  • Open the Edit menu and choose: Preferences (CRTL+K)
  • In Categories List, choose Reading
  • Tab twice to Screen Reader Options, Page vs Document
  • Choose “Read the Entire Document”
  • The results will be a much better experience navigating and searching the entire document
